Ken and Melissa are outta here !!!!

    Long Long Ago....

J&P Ink and Thread started in 1985 as a branch off of J&P Sporting Goods.  Joe and Pat (J&P) Bertossi were local residents and entrepreneurs who decided to be pioneers in the silk screen and embroidery business in West Branch.

Their children, Brian, Brenda, and Bret were part of the business as it grew, each of them taking on responsibilities in the different areas of the store.  Brenda eventually purchased the business from her parents in 1995 and moved the silk screening and embroidery to a downtown location, increasing the potential for traffic.

In 1999, Brenda purchased a building across the street from the downtown location, and moved the business into her new building.

In February of 2005, Brenda's husband accepted a position which would mean they needed to relocate to Colorado, and Ken and Melissa Hayes began working with Brenda.  The Hayes' had been customers of J&P Ink and Thread and were familiar with the business operations of a retail establishment.  Ken was a web and print designer and Melissa had sewing in the blood (her mother was a seamstress) so it was a good fit for all involved.

Linda Kotrys and her husband Kim moved to West Branch in 2004 from Canton Michigan and joined the Ink and Thread family in 2006.  Kim passed away in March of 2007 and Linda decided to pursue the prospect of owning her own business. With the partnership of  Don and Kathy Bauman, Linda was able to purchase Ink and Thread from Ken and Melissa in Mary of 2008.

Please help us Welcome Linda, Don and Kathy.
